Hindustan Computer Institute Students Attend Hands-on AI & ML Workshop at IIT Jammu
Students of Hindustan Computer Institute (HCI), Billawar recently participated in a one-day hands-on workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) at the Center of Excellence Lab by PHN Technology at IIT Jammu.
The visit was aimed at giving students real exposure to how emerging technologies are applied in professional and academic environments.
More than 20 students from HCI Billawar took part in this academic visit, where the focus was not just on learning concepts, but on understanding how AI and ML work in practice.
About the AI & ML Workshop at IIT Jammu
The workshop was conducted at the Center of Excellence Lab established by PHN Technology at IIT Jammu. Unlike classroom-based sessions, this program emphasized hands-on learning, practical demonstrations, and guided exercises using industry-relevant tools.
Students were introduced to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, followed by practical sessions that helped them understand how data, models, and algorithms are used to solve real problems.
The learning environment inside the IIT Jammu campus gave students valuable exposure to a research-driven and innovation-focused ecosystem, which many of them experienced for the first time.
Practical Learning Experience for HCI Students
During the workshop, students actively participated in:
Understanding the basics of AI and Machine Learning
Learning how real-world data is processed
Observing how models are trained and tested
Performing guided practical exercises in a lab setting
This approach helped students connect theory with application, making complex topics easier to understand. For many students, this visit clarified how AI and ML skills are actually used beyond textbooks and certificates.
Leadership and Academic Guidance
The visit was organized under the leadership of Mr. Dinesh Sharma, Founder & CEO of Hindustan Computer Institute, who has consistently emphasized the importance of skill-based and industry-aligned education.
Students were accompanied and mentored by Mr. Sahil Badyal, of PHN Technology, who coordinated the academic aspects of the visit and guided students throughout the workshop.
Such academic visits form an important part of HCI’s approach to learning—where students are encouraged to explore technology in real environments rather than limiting learning to classrooms alone.
Industry Collaboration with PHN Technology and IIT Jammu
Hindustan Computer Institute extends special thanks to PHN Technology and IIT Jammu for providing students with access to advanced infrastructure and a professional learning environment.
Collaborations like these help students understand industry expectations early and prepare them for future careers in technology-driven fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and data-related roles.
HCI’s Commitment to Skill-Based Education
At Hindustan Computer Institute Billawar, the focus is on job-oriented computer education backed by practical exposure. Along with foundational computer courses, HCI actively integrates training in AI, Generative AI, Excel, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies into its learning ecosystem.
Academic visits, workshops, and hands-on sessions are designed to ensure that students develop practical understanding, confidence, and employable skills, not just theoretical knowledge.
This AI & ML workshop at IIT Jammu is one more step in HCI’s ongoing effort to prepare students for future-ready careers in technology.
