Two Models — Pick the One That Fits

A Study Centre keeps its own name and buys our certification and systems. A Franchisee operates as HCI and gets our brand, territory protection and enquiries.

What You Pay Per Student

The only fee that scales. Paid once per student at enrolment — not monthly, and never as a share of your revenue.

BCCBasic Computer Course3 months₹500
DCADiploma in Computer Applications6 months₹1,000
ADCAAdvanced Diploma in Computer Applications1 year₹1,500
MDCAAMaster Diploma in Computer Accounting & Applications1 year₹2,000
ADFAAdvanced Diploma in Financial Accounting1 year₹1,500
ADFA + Tally CertificationOur fee plus Tally's own certificate fee1 year₹1,500 + Tally's fee
Tally CertificatesLevel 1 / 2 / 3 / Comprehensive—At Tally's rate — we add nothing
Marg ERP Certification—At Marg's rate — we add nothing

Minimum annual commitment: ₹10,000 in certification fees. About 20 students on BCC, or 7 on ADCA. It's a minimum billing, not a head-count target.

On Tally and Marg, we take zero markup

Tally Solutions and Marg ERP set their own certification fees. We pass them through at cost and handle the paperwork. ADFA with Tally certification is ₹1,500 to us, plus Tally's fee — currently ₹3,000, set by Tally. Marking third-party certification up by 40–100% is common in this industry. We don't, and you can check our figure against Tally's published rate any time.

Why We Charge Per Student, Not a Royalty

Many franchise brands take around 15% of monthly revenue. We charge a fixed amount per student, and the difference grows in your favour. Take ADCA — ₹1,500 to us, once, for the full year:

If you chargeYou collect / student / yearOur ₹1,500 isA 15% royalty would be
₹600/month₹7,20020.8%₹1,080
₹800/month₹9,60015.6%₹1,440
₹1,200/month₹14,40010.4%₹2,160
₹1,500/month₹18,0008.3%₹2,700

A royalty takes a cut of every rupee you add. A flat fee doesn't.

Raise your fees, run a premium batch, move upmarket as your reputation grows — we still charge ₹1,500.

The other side, stated plainly: at ₹600/month our fixed fee works out higher than a 15% royalty would. If you're starting at the lower end, talk to us.

Franchisees only

Territory Protection

An HCI Franchisee gets a protected catchment. While you're active, we won't sign another HCI centre inside it.

We define territory by block, not by kilometres. Twenty kilometres across the Billawar–Bani hills is a two-hour journey over a ridge; twenty kilometres across the Kathua plains is a 25-minute drive. Radius-based territories cause disputes in hill districts. A block or ward is clear, fits on your agreement without a map, and matches how you already think about your catchment.

Territory is held while you're active — that is, while you meet the ₹10,000 minimum annual commitment. If a centre goes inactive, the territory returns to the map and the partnership continues on a non-exclusive basis. That keeps the protection meaningful for partners who are actually working.

What You Spend on Your Own Setup

This money never touches HCI. You buy locally, at your own price, and you own all of it.

ItemTypical range
Space (300+ sq ft)Your local rent
5–10 computers₹1.2 L – ₹2.8 L
Furniture₹25,000 – ₹60,000
Power backup₹20,000 – ₹45,000
Signage & branding₹8,000 – ₹20,000
Internet / Wi-Fi₹800 – ₹1,500 / month
Electricity, misc.₹3,000 – ₹8,000 / month

You don't need new machines. For ADCA, BCC, Tally and MS Office, a refurbished i3 with 8 GB RAM and an SSD is enough, and it halves your largest cost. We'd rather you open with 8 refurbished PCs and a cash reserve than 4 new ones and nothing left.

What You Earn

That depends on what you charge, how many students you enrol and what your rent is — so we won't put a made-up profit figure here. Work it out with your own numbers instead.

A realistic first year, in a town of 20,000–50,000

Months 1–3

8–15 students

No word of mouth yet. This is the hard part.

Months 4–6

15–25 students

Your first batch's results become your marketing.

Months 7–12

25–45 students

Referrals compound. June–July is the admission spike.

Plan your cash for month four, not month twelve. Centres rarely fail on location. They fail because the owner spent everything on setup and had nothing left in month three.

Questions to Ask Any Franchise Before You Sign

Put the same questions to every brand you're considering, including us. Here are our answers.

A word on "free" and near-free franchises

Ask one question before you sign: what does this brand earn if my centre succeeds? If the answer is "nothing", it has no financial reason to care whether you survive, and no reason not to sign someone else in your town next month. Those models usually recover the cost elsewhere: per-student charges you weren't told about, compulsory material, or hardware you must buy through them. We earn when your students enrol. That's why we protect territory, and why our support team has a reason to pick up the phone.

Cost Questions

What does a computer institute franchise cost in India?

With HCI: no one-time fee, ₹10,000 annual renewal for a Franchisee, and ₹500–₹4,500 per student by course. A Study Centre pays no renewal at all, only per student. Across the wider market, one-time fees run from about ₹4,500 to ₹2.5 lakh.

Is there a one-time franchise fee?

No. Neither model has one.

Do you charge royalty?

No. We charge a fixed amount per student, never a percentage of your revenue. If you raise your fees, you keep the full increase.

Can I open with a low investment, under ₹1 lakh?

On our side, yes. Your own setup cost depends on local rent and how many machines you start with; refurbished computers and a 300 sq ft space keep it close to ₹1 lakh.

Is there a free computer institute franchise?

Some brands advertise one. Ask what they charge per student before you sign. A free franchise with an undisclosed per-student fee costs more than a transparent one.

Do I get an exclusive area?

Franchisees do — one centre per block or tehsil in rural areas, one per ward cluster in urban ones, held while you meet the minimum annual commitment. Study Centres don't take territory.

What is the minimum annual commitment?

₹10,000 a year in certification fees — about 20 students on BCC, fewer on higher courses. Seven MDCAA students come to ₹14,000, comfortably above it.

Ready for the Next Step?

We'll tell you if your town doesn't have the population to support a centre. We'd rather lose an application than open a centre that closes in eight months.
